The state exam is only required for individuals who submit an AGENCY (COMPANY) APPLICATION. Our course will help with your knowledge of the profession but we do NOT administer the exam. We do not have copies of the exam. We are not given copies of the state exam. We do are best to prepare you as a whole to become a successful investigator – however, there is work and additional study to be done on your part.
Once the Board approves candidates for examination, the approved candidates will be notified by PSI, which is the company that administers the exams.

When will I know if I am approved to take the Private Detective and/or Security Exam?
Once the Board approves candidates for examination, the approved candidates will be notified by the administrator of the exams, PSI. Candidates who are not approved for the exam will be notified within two weeks after the Board meeting.
When is the next Private Detective and/or Security Exam?
PSI administers exams for the Board. Once you are approved by the Board for the appropriate exam, you will be notified in writing by PSI, along with instructions on how to register online for the next exam. PSI maintains their exam schedules, and exams are given frequently. There are many choices of dates and locations available.
What study materials are available to prepare for the exam?
There are no study materials provided by the Board other than the Georgia Law and Board Rules.
